Holistic dentistry

Holistic medicine is not a separate method of medicine or healing, such as homeopathy or acupuncture, but a different philosophy of approaching health.

The holistic doctor approaches the patient thoroughly, aiming at the healing of both the body, the soul and the spirit. Symptoms are considered to be the expression of the disease, not the illness itself. Symptoms, of course, are evaluated and taken into consideration, but the goal is not only their absence but health itself. In the context of health, the absence of symptoms is important, but not the only thing that should be of concern to the doctor.

The holistic physician has studied classic medicine and considers it very useful and uses it in his daily practice with laboratory, displaying and other examinations, diagnoses and in some cases even with medicines (fortunately, rarely). The main difference with the classic family doctor is that he tries to avoid or delay or restrict the use of chemical drugs, and sees prevention as the most important of the treatment and attaches great importance to it.

What is holistic dentistry ?

While traditional dentistry focuses on the area of the oral cavity, holistic dentistry examines the patient as a whole system. It is an alternative concept that focuses on the use of non-toxic repair materials for dental work, non-surgical periodontal procedures for the treatment of gums, low-radiation digital X-rays, and highlights the symptoms of dental infections that most of us are unaware of what impact they have on our health generally.

Stress, nutritional deficiencies, diabetes, and inflammations can appear as gum or jaw diseases. Only a dentist can diagnose the severity of periodontal diseases. Those who suffer from gum disease (gingivitis, periodontitis) are more likely to suffer from myocardial infarction, stroke and pregnant women suffering from gingivitis are seven times more likely to give birth prematurely.

The overall health of an individual affects the strength of his teeth. Proper nutrition is an important factor in the health of our teeth. It is commonly accepted that tooth decay is caused by bacteria in the mouth. Bacteria produce acid that destroys teeth. The lack of calcium in the diet or the dysfunction of the parathyroid gland that regulates the amount of calcium in the body contributes to the destruction of the teeth

The purpose of dentistry is to create materials that look as much as possible with natural teeth, both aesthetically and functionally.

What does it mean that Homeopathy is “holistic medicine”?

Holistic is any method of healing that makes the entire body more healthy, mentally and physically. Specifically, when a patient who has 3-4 diseases and symptoms, one independent from the other, goes to the homeopathic physician, he will not receive a separate medication for any disease or symptom (as is usual in classic medicine) but will choose a single drug that is intended to alleviate all the symptoms and illnesses it suffers from

Digital x-ray

Replaces obsolete traditional x-ray by reducing patient exposure to radiation and eliminating waste and pollution.

It has 75-90% less radiation and eliminates the need for toxic stabilizing solutions of x-ray and lead films, contributing to environmental management.

Acupuncture General

Acupuncture has been established internationally as an integrated therapeutic system. It lacks side effects and is completely harmless when applied by properly trained doctors who strictly follow its appliance rules. The needles used are disposable or individual and sterilized in a surgical furnace, just like surgical instruments (auxiliary or complementary).

The Hellenic State, with the decisions of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Social Insurance “… accepts Acupuncture as a method of treatment which is applied only by doctors …” (Protocol number Y7 /… / 4270 / 25-6-96), and Adds that “… Acupuncture should only be performed by physicians who have experience and have been trained in acupuncture therapy …” (574/Α4/1191/21-2-1980).

These decisions honor the medical world, fully safeguard Greek patients who are addressed to Acupuncture and are in full harmony with the principles and the statute of the Hellenic Medical Association of Acupuncture.

In acupuncture, particularly fine needles are placed in specific parts of the body, known as “acupuncture points”, for the purpose of:

  • Curing various diseases
  • Relieving the patient from torturous symptoms
  • Preventing the onset of a disease
  • Bboosting and revitalize the organism in general
  • Stoping acute or chronic pain
  • Reducing medicines for a chronic condition
  • Fighting against obesity, smoking, alcoholism
  • Limiting the healing stalemate we often encounter in chronic degenerative diseases
